Dentist should screen for chronic illness
Screenings by dentists for the most common chronic medical diseases could save the American health care system as much as $102.6 million annually, according to a new study. 8% of the U.S. population has undiagnosed hypertension, 3% has undiagnosed diabetes, and 8% has undiagnosed high cholesterol. DTI introduces new cone beam magazine
Last week, Dental Tribune International (DTI) launched cone beam, international magazine of cone beam dentistry, a quarterly continuing education publication devoted entirely to CBCT in dentistry. Editor-in-Chief Dr Scott Ganz presented the first issue of the high-gloss English-language magazine at IMAGINA Dental, the 3-D and CAD/CAM digital dentistry congress that was held from 13 to 15 February in Monaco.

MDS admission announced in Himachal

Periodontal disease may increase seizure frequency in epilepsy patients
SÃO PAULO, Brazil: Researchers from Brazil found that periodontal disease and seizure severity were correlated in the patient group. Seizure frequency was associated with poor oral hygiene, gingivitis and periodontitis.
In the study, researchers determined the periodontal disease status of 109 patients treated for epilepsy and a control group, and documented the patients’ seizure frequency and use of medication. MORE HERE

Mercury filling impact on certain genetic variants
