Eight shops in Bavdhan area were broken into in the wee hours on Tuesday.
Medical shops, a ladies boutique, eateries, a dental clinic and a photo studio were among the shops targeted.
The Hinjewadi police said the burglars first broke into three shops in the Fortune Plaza complex on NDA-Pashan Road. They unsuccessfully tried to burgle another shop in the same complex. They later targeted two shops in Yashoda Apartments nearby and three more shops in a lane next to D Palace restaurant. TOI NEWS

A Perth dentist has defended his treatment of a woman who bled to death the day after having two teeth removed, during an inquest into her death.
