DCI launches lingual orthodontics as super-specialty
DCI is set to include lingual orthodontics in Dentistry curriculum from 2015-16 session.
Lingual orthodontics would be offered as a post-PG MCh degree, an independent super specialisation discipline under the Orthodontic department, Programme Director and faculty-in-Chief at SCB Dental College, Dr Suryakant Das said. The year-long programme will be covered in three modules. The training for the first batch of 32 orthodontists drawn from all over India went underway. FULL STORY

Nagpur GDC may soon become the first dental institution of the country to be elevated to super specialty status. A comparative evaluation of root canal area increase using three different nickel-titanium rotary systems: An ex vivo cone-beam computed tomographic analysis
The present study was undertaken to compare and evaluate the area increase of root canals with ProTaper, iRaCe and Revo-S systems using cone beam computed tomography for analysis.

Over half of private dentists unqualified to implant teeth — Saudi needs 100 implants specialists immediately ..
Over 60 percent of dentists in private clinics around the country are not specialized to implant teeth, since they have not been accredited with full license from the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCHS), an official at the agency confirmed.
In order to thwart any possible damage to patients, the commission is now preventing this practice at unlicensed clinics.
Dr. Arwa Ali Al-Sayyed, head of the teeth implant department at the SCHS and director of the fellowship program for teeth implants, confirmed the presence of a large number of expatriates who work in private hospitals and are not specialized, since their training has been very limited. Arab NEWS
