Around 30 hours after the case, city police cracked it after a former office assistant in Dr Mukesh Chandak’s dental clinic confessed under sustained interrogation to have masterminded and executed the kidnapping. Dr Chandak is Yug’s father.

DCI talks tough on tobacco use by Dental students
Students of dental colleges found consuming tobacco, alcohol, gutkha or drugs may soon face legal action. In a first of its kind move to keep the students off such items causing ill-health, the DCI has made it mandatory for the dental colleges to seek affidavits from their students stating that they will not indulge themselves in such vices on the college, hostel, hospital and canteen premises.
DCI aims to make the college campus tobacco and drug free zones as well as make the defaulters legally accountable for the violations.NEWSLINK
Supreme Court orders Rs 20 lakh each for 21 students denied MBBS seats
MUMBAI: The Supreme Court on Tuesday ordered the state government to pay a compensation of Rs 20 lakh each to 21 medical seat aspirants, who were denied admissions owing to alleged malpractices adopted by private colleges. The state has to pay as it failed “to take necessary action on the students’ complaints”, the court said.
The case dates back to 2012, when some of the 21 students were denied admissions to private medical and dental colleges and others, who had secured dental seats, were not allowed to shift to medicine, in spite of having the required scores. TOI NEWS
