MUMBAI: The mother of a four-year-old child, a Dentist Dr. Apeksha Sontakke, died on Wednesday, within two days of hospitalization., who lived with her husband on the JJ Hospital campus in Byculla. The case has baffled doctors as the woman displayed no symptoms of dengue, despite initially testing positive for the mosquito-borne disease. She ultimately died of swelling in the brain.MORE HERE

The election of Dr Dibyendu Mazumdar, president of the Dental Council of India, to the council has been “withdrawn” and “cancelled” by Nilamber-Pitamber University (NPU), which he represented on the council. With his council membership itself being terminated by the university, his appointment as president too is untenable, pointed out those who had filed cases challenging the legality of his appointment in the Delhi high court and the Kerala high court. Lady Dentist in Bengaluru robbed at knifepoint at home
A 25-year-old dentist on Monday night was robbed by her cook and his accomplices at her residence in South Bengaluru.
Dr Pratibha Jain was alone at home at the time, as her parents are visiting the US. The police have launched a manhunt for the culprits.

AIIMS dentist found dead
A 30-year-old dentist of All India Institute of Medical Sciences allegedly committed suicide by injecting a poisonous substance into her body at her residence in East Delhi’s Madhu Vihar on Thursday evening. However, no suicide note was found.
