Dentist takes wrong cab, gets looted
Lucknow: Beware of private taxi operators plying in the city. A dentist, resident of Sushant Golf City, was looted at gunpoint on Sunday night and dumped near the thickets located next to Vrindavan Yojna later on. Omkar Singh (35) had boarded a taxi to reach his native town in Mau district from Polytechnic crossing in Indiranagar at 9.15pm on Sunday.
Singh had asked his younger brother to drop him on motorcycle and had reached Polytechnic at 9pm. He was looking for a bus when a taxi operator offered to ferry him to Azamgarh in a swanky sedan and demanded less fare than the AC bus. SRM University/medical chancellor arrested for cheating students
CHENNAI: The chairman of business conglomerate SRM Group and chief of the Tamil Nadu’s Indiya Jananayaka Katchi (IJK) party, TR Pachamuthu, has been sent to judicial custody till September 9 after being arrested on Friday in a cheating case.
A statement by the city police said a movie producer Madan and a few others had cheated 111 persons collecting nearly Rs. 75 crore for under graduate and post graduate medical seats.…LINK
