However, due to the government’s ‘rotational’ policy; probably a first as far as deans are concerned – she has now been summarily removed and is back as HoD and another professor some 4-5 years junior been made the dean.

Dentists protest against arrest of Dr. Bhagwan Das
Udaipur dentists & members of Indian Dental Association gathered today in huge number outside Collectorate and protested against the arrest of the principal of Pacific Dental College, in relation to Bhavya Shah’s suicide case.
The dentists marched forming a rally from the gate of RNT medical college to the Collectorate. At Collectorate, they met S.P and the President of The IDA Udaipur & HOD Prosthodontics, Darshan Dental College presented a memorandum & demanded proper investigation of the matter. Supporting the principal Dr. Bhagwan Das, they said that he wasn’t involved in the Bhavya’s suicide and he was arrested out of political pressure. NEWSLINK
CBI investigates purchase of Dental chairs
The dental chairs cost Rs 1.5 lakh per piece but the 38 dental chairs were purchased at the inflated rate of Rs 3.75 lakh per piece, that too without accessories. Carrying forward their investigation into the alleged irregularities com-mitted during procurement of 38 dental chairs, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) took statements of some RIMS officials. Govt says no to Dental Surgeons
The government today dashed the hopes of agitating unemployed dental surgeons saying that it does not have vacancies to engage them.

Saliva test predicts recurrence of HPV-linked oral cancers
USA: In order to improve screening for oral cancers associated with the human papillomavirus (HPV), researchers have investigated the potential role of saliva and blood plasma in the detection of DNA from HPV 16, a major causative factor of oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma. Are people without wisdom teeth more highly evolved?
Lack of wisdom teeth doesn’t produce any great evolutionary advantage, particularly with the abundance of oral surgeons who can remove the wisdom teeth that do emerge.
