Dental student jumps to death from top of college building
A 19-year-old girl student of Saraswati Dental College ended her life by jumping off the fifth floor of the college building in Lucknow’s Chinhat police station area Monday afternoon.
According to the police, Vidya Yadav, a student of Bachelor of Dental Science, died on the spot.
Gomti Nagar Circle Officer V S Mishra said the police did not recover any suicide note.  EXP NEWS
NYU Dental School tries to cover credit card theft
Trying to get information on a credit card scam at NYU’s Dental School was like pulling teeth.
A marijuana bust led police to uncover a massive identity theft operation that officials at the prestigious university tried to hush up, law enforcement sources told The Post.Joel Scott and James Giscombe Jr., who work with patients treated at the school, were busted last summer for allegedly lifting credit card information from more than 350 victims using a mini card skimmer.
They allegedly opened credit card accounts with it and went on shopping sprees totaling about $100,000….LINKLINK2

Appeal To Health Ministry For Immediate Removal Of Dr. Ketan Desai from DCI
PBT has filed an urgent memorandum to the central ministry of health urging them to take immediate steps to remove disgraced ex-MCI chief, Dr. Ketan Desai, from the Dental Council of India (DCI).  In his appeal, PBT president Dr. Kunal Saha has written to the secretary of central health ministry that Gujarat University’s recommendation to send Dr. Desai as their representative DCI member is not only against the law, it would also greatly undermine public trust on the dental profession across India. Triclosan Linked to the Growth of Breast Cancer Cells

When Vikram Vora was walking clinic to clinic selling dental equipment in the late 2000s. Vora 34, an engineer by training, launched Mydentist in Mumbai in 2010, basing it on the café model: clear, standard rates for every treatment (e.g., a root canal always costs 2,500 rupees–about $40), fixed waiting times, and quality materials. Probiotics Help Improve Oral Health
The Cleft Palate–Craniofacial Journal–Poor oral hygiene and higher incidence of tooth decay are often prevalent in people with cleft lip and palate. Food supplements containing probiotic bacteria can help reduce the incidence and severity of dental caries.
In the study, counts of mutans streptococci, which promote tooth decay, were significantly reduced among those patients who used the probiotic. Likewise, the good bacteria, lactobacilli, showed significant increases among the intervention group. In addition, Lactobacillus paracasei SD1 were still detected up to 4 weeks after active usage of the probiotic. FULL PAPER
