Dentist swindled money to amass huge shoe collection
A dentist jailed after she made more than £1million by fraudulently claiming for dental work on the NHS has been ordered to pay the whole lot back by a judge.
She submitted 100 claims for patients who were dead, and triple-claimed for others during a scam netting her £1,376,423.80 from 7,141 fraudulent claims.
She then splashed out on designer shoes and clothes, luxury homes, £1,000-a-night hotel suites in the Caribbean and America, and private schooling for her granddaughters. DAILY MAIL …She made dentures for DEAD patients

a low insertion torque of implants that are planned to be immediately or early loaded, inexperienced surgeons inserting the implants, implant insertion in the maxilla,
implant insertion in the posterior region of the jaws, implants in heavy smokers,
implant insertion in bone qualities type III and IV,
implant insertion in places with small bone volumes,
use of shorter length implants, greater number of implants placed per patient,
lack of initial implant stability, use of cylindrical (non-threaded) implants and prosthetic rehabilitation with implant-supported overdentures.

Council misleading health ministry or ministry misinforming parliament?
There seems to be a communication gap between MCI and the Health ministry. MCI claimed on February 18 they had no jurisdiction on doctors’ associations and hence all its decisions against officer bearers of doctors’ associations were void. However, just two days later, on February 21, health minister Ghulam Nabi Azad told Parliament that MCI was taking action against office bearers of the Indian Medical Association for endorsing food products. SC asks Govt- provide details on deaths in Clinical trials
The Supreme Court on Monday directed the Centre to provide details on the number of deaths and severe adverse effects caused to people who were subjected to clinical trials. There were around 4,000 cases of severe adverse effects (as per NGO) of drugs trial, including deaths, the government claimed the figure stood at 506, with 89 cases of deaths. ZEE NEWS
