The city police on Tuesday morning picked up a 38-year-old dentist for coercing his wife, a doctor, to mortgage a house in Thirumanagalam for Rs 1 crore and forging her signature to take a loan of 28 lakh but let him walk free, reportedly under political pressure, later in the day.
An investigating officer said M Ramasamy, a professor at Dental College in Tiruvallur who also practises in a clinic in Padi, also constantly harassed Chandrakala, 35, for dowry. FULL STORY

Now Separate MDS entrance for Muslims
The Bombay high court in an interim order on Tuesday allowed a Pune college to conduct a separate common entrance test for Muslim students to fill up minority quota seats for its MDS course.
A division bench of Justices Anoop Mohta and Amjad Sayed dismissed the Pravesh Niyantran Samiti’s claims that the other 231 minority institutions will make similar demands. TOI news

Exploded Cheap mobile phone had left a teenager from Seoni severely disfigured some three months ago. The blast fractured his jaw bones in four to five places, with his nose, mouth, tongue and chin being disfigured.

“VIP college managements act as powerful lobbies and aid one another to run their business. To get approval during MCI inspections, the managements get the required staff from another institute on a temporary basis.
