Dental infections thought to cause brain aneurysms
While bacterial infections have been associated with a number of serious medical conditions, such as cardiovascular diseases, their role in cerebrovascular disorders has not been fully understood to date. Now, researchers from Finland have suggested that infections due to oral and pharyngeal bacteria could be a risk factor for ruptured intracranial aneurysms.
In the study, the researchers obtained 36 ruptured aneurysm specimens through aneurysm clipping operations (29) and by autopsy (7), which were examined for the presence of bacterial DNA from various oral species.
This study is the first to provide evidence that dental infections could be associated with intracranial aneurysm disease and the rupture of brain aneurysms in particular. LINK

It concluded that there were sufficient clinical studies that showed these toothpastes reduced the incidence of cavities, the presence of plaque and gingivitis. Sci LINK

Scrape your tongue and discover a new world of oral health
“Tongue cleaning seems like a new concept in the western world,” explains Souris Dentist Dr. Justin Claire. “But tongue cleaning is of great importance even in modern times. It significantly reduces the bacterial load and food debris in the oral cavity as the tongue has a very large surface area in the papilli. Removing this bacteria and food debris may help with halitosis, gum disease and cavities.”
Decaying bacteria produce volatile sulphuric compounds at the back of the tongue. These molecules account for 80 to 95 per cent of all cases of bad breath. NEWSLINK
Oil Pulling Heals Gums & Whitens Teeth, Naturally
I was curious enough and convinced enough to give oil pulling a try, and I am so glad that I did. Oil pulling completely cleared up my gingivitis, and it absolutely whitened my teeth, all in under two months. I could hardly believe it!
It appears that the key to successful oil pulling is in the duration of the swishing. See, oil is viscous, so it’s “sticky.” And it spreads. Given enough time (like, say, a full 20 minutes), it will slowly seep all the way up into those bacteria-filled pockets. Tooth brush bristles can’t get up there. Toothpaste is foamy and runny, not sticky at all, so it won’t get up there. Mouthwash isn’t viscous at all. But oil – oil creeps into every nook and cranny. MORE HERE
